So far, several employees have shared social media accounts about their work lives, including the challenges they face in their jobs. Recently, a woman took to Reddit to claim that her boss fired her for having a crisis and even sent her stuff home. To support his claim, the employee who attended the ‘Hellokittypityparty’ shared screenshots of the conversation with his boss on social media.

The diabetic woman explained that she had to take time off work because her blood sugar was dangerously high. However, her boss sent her a text saying she ‘didn’t think the training would be right for her.’ The boss then told her that he packed up some of the items left at the women’s workplace and left them at his home.

Surprised by the text, the woman sent her a long message that read: ‘I didn’t know that a dangerous night with blood sugar so high I could put myself in a hospital bed would be the end of working there. I think training is a no-no but I don’t pretend to appreciate leaving my stuff because I think it’s pretty likely that you just can’t handle the difficult decision to fire someone for a medical emergency, let alone check on me afterward.’

The employee also stated that he would have submitted a health report if necessary.

‘If you had asked, I could have provided a doctor’s note or even sent pictures of my glucose readings if my health was too incredible for you. It is rather unfortunate that you were so kind for such a short time; the mask usually lasts longer, especially because I wasn’t even on time today, I volunteered to come in and then the crisis happened,’ she continued.

The post has gone viral and many users are shocked by the insensitivity and harshness of her employer. Some have also called on her to take legal action.

One user wrote: ‘I’m a diabetic on insulin myself, I’d sue her a**. Diabetics are a protected group under the Americans with Disabilities Act.’

Another commented, ‘Unsurprising but unacceptable. It doesn’t matter if you’re on your deathbed, companies could care less about anyone but their bottom line.’

A third said, ‘I would contact the law firm immediately, too.’ They fired you because of your disability. There is no excuse for that. I hope you are feeling better now.’
