Family members of the bride and the groom earlier completed the pre-wedding rituals of “haldi” and “mehendi.” The bride and her family participated in each ceremony eagerly and curiously despite having little knowledge of the Indian customs. The wedding took place at a downtown hotel and was attended by all the family members, friends, and other visitors.
