India will soon have its own international cruise liner ‘Costa Marina’ and a trip on this will savour you with a lifetime experience of witnessing the deep blue sea, blue sky, flowing water, and cool breeze.
The International cruise liner, ‘Costa Marina’ that was launched on Monday will pave the way for India’s presence in the deep sea with people getting the opportunity to have unique experiences.
Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off the company to go for its maiden voyage at the Mumbai coast. Costa Cruises will travel for 2 months and around 45 thousand people can travel on it. The cruise will be available mostly around Mumbai, Goa, Lakshadweep, and Cochin.
25 tourists on Ganga Vilas trip
Ganga Vilas cruise which takes tours across the country and the world, is currently on its journey. The one-day fare for the cruise that departed from Kolkata in October is Rs 50 thousand. The ticket for the 51-day journey from Varanasi to Dibrugarh is Rs 25 lakh.
This cruise was first flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Yogi Adityanath, and Union Shipping Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on its maiden voyage from Varanasi to Dibrugarh (Assam).
14-member crew of Ganga Vilas
There are 18 luxury suites in Ganga Vilas where 36 passengers can accomodate. The daily rent for a 2-bed suite is around Rs 50 thousand. Sailing at a speed of 20 Km per hour the cruise covers a distance of 100 to 150 kilometers every day.
Raj Singh, managing director of Heritage River Journey, said, “Its 14-member marine staff is fully trained. A wheelhouse (driving room) has been built on its second floor. All kinds of facilities have been provided to the passengers during the journey. All safety measures are in place.”
He went on to add that after getting off the cruise, people can also take a tour of the city and arrangements have also been made to avoid any kind of emergency.
