So far, several employees have taken to social media to share stories about their work lives, including the challenges they face on the job. A Reddit user recently revealed that his employer wants to check his phone, which he believes is ‘Illegal.’

In the ‘Anti Work’ sub, a user named @BlueSeaChief claimed that his company required employees to download an app that would monitor their personal phone activity.

‘My employer recently switched to a new time card app that tracks my phone. I, for one, am not happy that they are tracking our phones. However, I’m sure if you try to discuss this with senior management, the answer will be ‘If you don’t like it, leave’. I’m about 95% sure it’s illegal. What should I do or who should I call?’, reads the Reddit post.

One user wrote: ‘If they want to track when you’re on or off, they can buy you a cheap phone that you keep on your desk/drawer. Don’t let anyone talk you into putting this crap on your phone.’

Another commented: ‘Yeah, I’d tell them I don’t have a smartphone unless just saying no is an option. If they saw it, tell them it’s broken and you can’t afford a new one.’

A third said: ‘I would say it’s illegal because you always have your phone with you and at home.’

An HR professional commented: “I don’t approve of this! If the company doesn’t pay for your phone service, they can’t even legally require you to download an app (like for a watch). I’m in HR in the US and I’ve seen companies try this and they can’t legally enforce it If they end up, you’d have a pretty big lawsuit too.’

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
