China: China is witnessing a strange event, Youths of the country are seeking companionship in temporary partners, so that they can avoid the complications of a serious relationship, as per a report in South China Morning Post (SCMP).

The outlet follows the Mandarin term da zi, which means “everything can be matched.” The concept revolves around the idea of forming social interaction with people having similar interests and has little to do with gender without having to know everything about another person, the outlet said.

Young people seek temporary partners

The young population of China is looking for “temporary partners” on social media platforms such as Xiaohongshu, said SCMP.

As per the platform, it is not quite required for these partners be with each other in person, they can engage with each other on a daily basis by conversating on apps like WeChat and other such messaging platforms.

On the other front, not everybody has got luck in finding temporary partners.

A 20-year-old told the outlet that he had arranged a meal with a male partner, but to hold a good interaction, he had to be an active listener. Another such person recalled his strange encounter with a lady with whom he fell in love but she was already in a relationship.

The trend became a thing when young people were feeling alone, deprived of love, wanting to build a real connection but at the same time wanted their own space and independence.
