Fed up with regular harassment, when the girl finally mustered courage and narrated the incident to her family, her father reported the incident to villagers and confronted the boy.

The incident was recorded on a CCTV camera, in which it was seen that a group of men assaulted a man as he came out of his home. The video was also tweeted by the UP Congress handle, mentioning that the girls are not safe in UP.

“Following the assault incident, we have arrested two suspects, and efforts are underway to nab others,” said police.

“My daughter was being harassed by that boy for many days. When I protested, I was brutally beaten,” the girl told police, adding, “Now I fear for my daughter’s and family’s safety.”

Police had filed a case and initiated an investigation into the matter. They have named four suspects in the FIR and expect arrests will be made soon.   Precautionary security protection arrangements have been made for the victim’s family during the investigation.
