A recent Reddit post by a cab driver detailing six guidelines for passengers has gone viral across social media platforms. A user shared the photo placed on the back of the front seat, saying, “I have booked a cab and the driver mentioned some guidelines on the cab! What do you think about these guidelines?”
While many users lauded the driver for taking a stand against rude passengers, others criticized his guidelines calling them illogical.
Guidelines For Passengers
The instructions on the photo said:
1. “You are not the owner of the cab”
2. “The person driving the cab that is the owner of the cab.”
3. “Speak politely and take respect.”
4. Close the door slowly.”
5. Put your attitude in your pocket please don’t show it to us because you are not giving more money to us.”
6. “Don’t say bhaiya to us.’
The picture also contained a note that said, “Don’t say to drive fast be on time.”

The post soon started a lively debate among social media users. One user said, “As long as it focuses on mutual respect, its fine.”
Another remarked, “If the driver is respectful, I don’t have a problem with the rules.” A third expressed his opinion saying, “Most points are right but what’s with – don’t call us bhaiya?”
Some users expressed concern over the demands of the driver. A commenter said, “I never understood what ‘bhaiya’ is supposed to mean. Its literal translation in English is quite messed up.”
