A British citizen has made history by driving his car on an 18,300-kilometer journey across 16 countries from London to India. Completing this journey took a total of 59 days.

Virajit Mungale, who resides in London, is indeed a British citizen. However, his roots are deeply connected to India. Usually, Virajit frequently travels to Thane to meet his mother. However, this time, instead of opting for a flight, he decided to come by car and crossed 16 countries to reach India after leaving Britain. Following his departure from Britain, his route included countries such as France, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tibet, and Nepal. Finally, after a journey spanning 59 days and covering many kilometers, Virajit arrived in India.

Speaking about his remarkable journey, Virajit mentioned that he had read about the Silk Route, which inspired him to plan his trip along the same route. During this journey, he also learned about a family who had traveled to several countries in their car. Virajit emailed the family but did not receive any response from them. Nevertheless, he did not give up and independently planned this trip.

Virajit shared his personal experience, recalling how when he initially shared the plan with his wife, she thought he was joking. However, later she also supported him and helped finalize the plan. According to Virajit, he had made this plan several years ago. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he had to postpone this plan.

According to Virajit, after starting the trip from London, he drove 400-600 kilometers daily. Sometimes, he had to drive up to 1000 kilometers in a day. However, Virajit avoided driving at night. He mentioned that before starting the journey, he had prepped his SUV with maintenance. However, upon reaching Poland, the car encountered some issues. They got it fixed and continued on their journey.

Virajit mentioned that being a British citizen, he didn’t face much hassle entering any country. Working in an IT company, he had taken a two-month leave for this journey. According to Virajit, this journey was quite special for him. He encountered intense heat in several countries. Additionally, he experienced snowfall on roads at heights of 5,200 meters.
