Viral: Imagine your playlist goes half suddenly which you listen on a daily. Spotify’s hundreds of Indian blockbuster songs go missing from the app.
Spotify stated that they have not been able to reach an agreement with the track’s owner after the old one expires.
The deleted list includes songs like “Malhari” from the epic romance “Bajirao Mastani” or “Kala Chashma” from “Baar Baar Dekho,” along with other songs.
It has left gaps in many users’ playlists, which they discovered after loading them up and pressing play.
Spotify said it would continue “good faith” efforts to find a “creative solution” with Zee Music, which is part of one of India’s largest entertainment companies.
Spotify explained that it doesn’t provide access to all the songs and podcasts in the world. As long as they have a licencing deal with publishers and rights holders, they can provide their tracks.
A user questioned Zee Music as well as Spotify, “why are all entertainment apps collectively doing this to us spotify removed zee music songs hotstar is removing hbo shows also removed f1 bhai kya issue hai???”
Another user while showing her pain of not finding songs on the app and asked for an explanation, “Zee music got some explaining to do I can’t handle this pain anymore.”
A user requested Spotify and Zee Music to put back all the songs, “I don’t know what’s happening on Spotify and zee music but y’all mofos better put back ALL DEM SONGS BACK!!”
