Priyansh Agarwal, a Google software engineer based in Bengaluru, has shared that one of the significant perks of working at Google is the free cab service provided to employees, which helps him save a considerable amount of money. Agarwal, an IIT-Delhi alumnus, has also worked at Zomato and Goldman Sachs prior to his current role at Google.

Mr. Agarwal mentioned on X that Google offers a cab service between the office and home, which he considers one of the biggest perks in Bengaluru. Living 12 km away from the office, he never has to wait for an Uber, Ola, or Rapido, saving him a lot of money. He added that he wrote this while commuting to the office in a GCab.

Many users noted that numerous firms offer cab facilities to their employees. In response, Mr. Agarwal clarified, explaining that while other companies also provide this perk, his previous employers did not. Thus, this benefit is new to him. He emphasized that his tweet was not intended to suggest that other companies don’t offer similar services.

Reacting to the post, one user wrote that the cab service is one of the reasons they remain in Bengaluru and go to the office despite having the option to work from home. Another user commented that providing such perks helps companies save through tax deductions and makes employee retention easier.
