Viral Reddit Post: A shocking Reddit post has taken the internet by storm where a Bengaluru man alleged that he was threatened by a Rapido driver. In the post, the man mentioned that the incident occurred over a spat on AC following which the driver tried to stab him on Bengaluru’s main road. The post, shared about 2 days ago, reads, “Had an extremely scary episode and please note, I speak fluent Kannada. Started as an argument over AC – I wanted it on, driver REFUSED to turn it on, simply because his mood was bad I think.”
The man told he had a conversation with Rapido later and they said ‘there was no reason for him to refuse.’ He alleged that the driver asked him to get out of his cab and cancel the ride. When he refused, saying “you wanted me to get out so you take accountability and cancel,” the driver turned his key chain to a sharp mini knife’.
“He came towards me, holding the key chain to my chest. In that moment I was shocked and scared and immediately told him that let’s go to a cop and pointed at a traffic cop across the road. In that moment he backed off a bit and I started to attempt crossing the road to go to the cop. I could hear him make a call asking for reinforcements!! To come and beat me/scare me, god knows!” he said.
What happened next? An auto driver came to the man’s rescue, however, the driver called and abused him since he already knew his pick up and drop location. The man blasted Rapido highlighting the company’s response was unconvincing. In a series of update, the man informed:
– He has been OTP bombed repeatedly. He confirmed it was the driver as he had his number and an unsettled fight.
– He said he will be lodging an FIR against the driver and Rapido
– He informed that the Police has warned the driver to stop harassing him. Meanwhile, the driver denied the allegations and said that he ‘never even got out of the car’.
