Former UK PM Rishi Sunak visited Bengaluru’s Raghavendra Swamy Mutt with his wife Akshata Murthy and in-laws Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty. They all visited the Mutt situated in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. The family went there to seek blessing of Guru Raghavendra swamy during auspicious month of Kartika.

Former UK PM Sunak’s in-laws, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and author Sudha Murty were also seen with the couple. The family participated in the usual rituals followed in temple.

They visited the Mutt in Bengaluru, in Kartika Masa, which is said to be very auspicious month.

Rishi Sunak’s Cultural Roots

Sunak had earlier spoken about his cultural roots. “I am hugely proud of my Indian roots and my connections to India. Being a proud Hindu means I will always have a connection to India and people of India.

Former UK PM Sunak, born and raised in Southampton, England, has ancestral ties to India. Last year he had a visit to Akshardham Temple in Delhi with his wife Akshata. This was the time when he visited India during G20 Summit.

In the year 2023 Rishi Sunak attended a Ram Katha at Cambridge University on Independence day of India. He stated “I am here not as PM but as a Hindu”.

Rishi Sunak served as PM of UK from October 22 untill July 2023. He was succeeded by Keir Starmer in 2024.
