Will The Supermoon Be Visible From India?
Yes, the Beaver Moon will be visible from India. According to reports, in India and most of Asia, it will reach its peak at 2:58 AM IST on November 16, 2024. However, viewers can get the best view of the supermoon on November 16 shortly after sunset. At that time, the moon will rise about 20 to 30 minutes after sunset. This is when the “moon illusion” effect will make it look extra large and bright in appearance.

Why Is November’s Full Moon Called The Beaver Moon?
The Beaver Moon gets its name from the beavers (second-largest living rodents) which are mostly active during that time of the year, preparing for winter, building dams, and stockpiling food. Earlier, trappers used beaver traps to get a supply of warm furs for the cold months ahead.
What Will The Supermoon Look Like?
The Beaver Moon will appear in the night sky as a bright, round disc of light. However, its brightness does not come from its own rather it reflects the sunlight. It will said to be strikingly beautiful shortly after sunset creating the “moon illusion” effect, which makes it appear much larger than normal.
Is The Supermoon Visible Through Naked Eye?
When viewed with the naked eye, the supermoon’s bright light may wash out a few stars in the Pleiades. Using binoculars or telescopes is recommended for enhanced visibility.
