New Delhi: An Indian origin girl has married a girl of Bangladeshi origin. Both the girls are homosexual and they met through a dating application. After dating each other for about 6 years, they recently got married. However, marriage between two girls together was not so easy. Especially for Tina Das of Bangladesh.
Subhiksha Subramani, who lives in Canada, is originally a resident of Tamil Nadu. She got married in India with Tina on August 31. Subhiksha said that all this was not so easy. But she managed to convince her parents. However, it was very difficult for Tina as she was married at the age of 19. However, later she was separated from her husband and family.
6 years of dating evolved to marriage
Subhiksha told that her roots are in India. That’s why she wanted to get married here. After persuading the whole family, she came to Tamil Nadu and married Tina. She met Tina in Canada itself. They were together for 6 years. And now they have tied the knot.
Subhiksha says that her mother agreed quickly, but her father was hesitant. He wanted me to get married in Canada. He was worried that there might be protest against the marriage. But Subhiksha wanted all the relatives to attend her marriage and it was possible only if the marriage took place in India.
‘I don’t know how to express my feelings’
Through all this, Tina was fully supported her partner. After getting married, Tina said, “I feel very good. I have come to Tamil Nadu for the first time. I don’t know how to express my feelings. Subhiksha’s entire family was with her. The wedding was amazing, it was a dream come true.” At present, Subhiksha and Tina are in abroad for honeymoon.
Their marriage too place with all the rituals. The one who got them married was also from the gay community. The couple said that they also have to face trolls. But they are certain their marriage will work to break the prejudices prevailing among the people regarding the gay community.
