Steve Jobs’ Leaked Email Reveals His Thoughts In Final Year: ‘I Was Helpless’

Apple co-founder Steve Jobs not only revolutionized the tech industry but also left behind a personal, cryptic email to himself in 2010, a year before his death. His widow, Laurene Powell Jobs, shared the email on the Steve Jobs Archive website, providing insight into his thoughts during his final years. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, Jobs battled the illness for eight years before passing away at 56 in October 2011.

In the email, Jobs reflected on humanity, his personal struggles, and his health concerns. He expressed feeling ‘helpless to help himself survive,’ and wrote about his dependence on others for food, clothing, language, mathematics, and medical attention. Jobs concluded with admiration for humanity, acknowledging his reliance on others for his life and well-being, and signed off with the classic Apple message, ‘Sent from my iPad.’

Over the years, other emails from Jobs have surfaced online, revealing intriguing details about his work. One such email hinted at Apple’s plans to launch a smaller version of their mobile device, the iPhone Nano. During the Apple vs. Epic lawsuit, The Verge discovered an email where Jobs discussed the ‘iPhone nano plan,’ including cost goals and a mention of former Chief Designer Jony Ive, who was likely responsible for the device’s design.
