Maharashtra: The lovestory of an elderly couple in their 70s will make you believe that age is just a number. In Kolhapur, a 75-year-old man married a 70-year-old woman he met in an old age home. Their touching story received a lot of attention on social media.
Baburao Patil, 75, and Anusaya Shinde, 70, fell in love. They had both moved to Janaki, an old age home, two years before. They discovered love in the most unexpected of places. The incident occurred in the Kolhapur District of Maharashtra.
Baburao had lost his wife when he entered the Kolhapur old age home. Anusaya’s husband had also died. Their affection for one another grew, and they became each other’s support in the nursing home.
A few days ago, Baburao Patil proposed to Anusaya. However, she did not initially agree. She accepted his proposal eight days later. Both were married in Janaki Ashram with great fanfare, according to Hindu rituals. People here advised us to marry so that we could support each other in our old age.
Due to an unfortunate accident that left the bride with a fractured arm and leg, the couple married on Mahashivratri, two days after their scheduled wedding. The bride performed the rituals on her hospital bed, which was elegantly decorated as a “mandap.” Rajendra Chaudhary, son of Soudan Chaudhary, a resident of Bherughat, Ujjain, and Shivani, a resident of Julwania, are a couple who married in an unusual way.
