A Delhi-based restaurateur has recently leveled serious allegations against food delivery aggregator Zomato. Gagandeep Singh Sapra, owner of Tadka Rani restaurant in Greater Kailash 1 area, shared video evidence alleging that his restaurant is repeatedly shown as unavailable on the app. To support his claims, he also searched nearby restaurants that were accepting orders as normal in the screen-recording.
He first opens the Zomato app and searches for “Tadka Rani,” but it shows ‘not delivering currently. Meanwhile, other nearby restaurants appeared to be open for orders. The video immediately garnered widespread attention. “Here’s video proof of how rider allocation is being manipulated at Zomato. For 31 days, we’ve escalated this, and nothing has changed. Our restaurant is repeatedly shown as ‘unavailable’ at peak hours while nearby outlets within 50 meters keep getting riders. This isn’t ‘dynamic allocation’—it’s system-level bias,” he wrote on X. Sapra alleged that this problem is particularly acute during peak order hours.

Sapra Makes Serious Claim In Another Message
He claimed that aggregators are making everything expensive. “Base commissions = 30%, plus other costs, such as long distance fee, growth fee, payment processing fee, ads fee ~ on a good month it will average to 48%, on other months it averages to 52%.” He also tagged Deepinder Goyal, the CEO and founder of Zomato, on his X post.
Zomato’s Response, Eatery Owner Acknowledges
Responding to the post, Zomato’s Food Delivery CEO, Aditya Mangal, said, “Thank you for sharing this. I’m getting this checked.”
Responding to Mangla, the restaurateur said, “Thank you Aditya ji, means a lot you reached out. I have written to all your team members and have several meetings, yesterday was 31st Day, and no one seems to see a resolve.”
