New Delhi: Online delivery, an easy and comfortable mode of shopping. You did not need to go anywhere, just order by phone and it will be there at your doorstep. But at the same time, people face a lot more problems like order gets delivers to the wrong address and many more.
But a bigger problem has been reported this time from Los Angeles where people are getting hundreds of paid-for deliveries from Uber Eats which no one has ordered, locals say.
According to media reports, For weeks, residents along Range View Avenue in Highland Park have been receiving multiple Uber Eats orders per day. Milkshakes, sandwiches, and lattes from well-known food chains like McDonald’s and Starbucks are included in the packages.
The deliveries began in February. Some residents have told media outlets that they have been receiving up to 13 deliveries per day from McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Starbucks, and other restaurants via Uber Eats for several weeks.
William, a local man told, “When it became too much food at once, we’d try to find places to donate it or give it away.”
A woman named Caroline Aguirre told, “I just started getting bags of Starbucks and McDonald’s deliveries on my front porch and I did not order them.”
She added, “There would be times when it would be like five or six in a day, and then, like, two in a day, and then five the next day.”
Many of the recipients said they tried calling the phone numbers listed on the orders, but they were all disconnected.
According to media reports by UPI, an Uber Eats representative stated that their officials are now investigating the mysterious orders.
