New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday held an all-party meeting to discuss the ongoing situation in the north-eastern state of Manipur. 

Bharatiya Janata Party Chief JP Nadda, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and CPI(M) MP John Brittas were among the leaders who attended the meeting. 

Earlier, during his four-day visit to the violence-wracked state, Home Minister Amit Shah appealed for peace and warned strict action against miscreants.

Manipur is still getting incidents of violence after 53 days when it started on May 3. the Situation is not normal yet. 

Opposition targets PM’s US visit

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted PM Modi over Manipur violence and foreign tour. He said that the all-party meeting is being called at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a state visit to the United States, which shows that the meeting is not important to him.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted that Manipur is burning for 50 days, but the Prime Minister remained silent. The all-party meeting was called when the Prime Minister himself is not in the country. This meeting is not important for the Prime Minister.
