New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off five new Vande Bharat Express trains from Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Bhopal. Among these, two were started from Madhya Pradesh, one from South India, and one from Bihar, while one train will run between Mumbai and Goa. With these five trains, the number of Vande Bharat Express trains in the country has increased to 23.

Vande Bharat trains flagged off today include Bhopal (Rani Kamalapati)-Indore Vande Bharat Express, Bhopal (Rani Kamalapati)-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express, Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express, Dharwad-Bangalore Vande Bharat Express, and Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express.

Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express

It is the second Vande Bharat Express train of Karnataka, which will connect important cities of the state—Dharwad, Hubli, and Davanagere—with the state capital, Bengaluru. The distance of approximately 490 kilometres between Bengaluru and Hubli-Dharwad is 6 hours and 13 minutes. This train will leave Bengaluru at 5:45 a.m. and reach Dharwad railway station at 11:58 a.m.

Madhya Pradesh got two new Vande Bharat Expresses, which will connect Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore and improve the connectivity of the Malwa region (Indore) and Bundelkhand region (Khajuraho) to the Central region (Bhopal). This will benefit important tourist places like Mahakaleshwar, Mandu, Maheshwar, Khajuraho, and Panna. The train will be about two hours and thirty minutes faster than the existing fastest train on the route.

Rani Kamlapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express

It will connect the Mahakaushal region (Jabalpur) to the Central region (Bhopal) of Madhya Pradesh with better connectivity to tourist places like Bheraghat, Pachmarhi, Satpura, etc. The train will be approximately thirty minutes faster than the fastest train on the route.

Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express

It was expected to be inaugurated on June 3, 2023, but was postponed due to the Balasore train accident. The Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express will be the first Vande Bharat Express from Goa. It will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai and Madgaon Station in Goa. It will help save about one hour in travel time as compared to the current fastest train connecting the two places.

Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express

Indian Railways will run semi-high-speed trains on the Patna and Ranchi routes. The new Vande Bharat Express is expected to cover the distance in six hours. It will also pass through Tatisilve, BIT Mesra, Barkakana, and Hazaribagh.

Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express

The first Vande Bharat for Jharkhand and Bihar will increase connectivity between Patna and Ranchi and will be beneficial for tourists, students, and businessmen. It will help save about one hour and twenty-five minutes in travel time as compared to the current fastest train connecting the two places, according to an official statement.
