Pakistan Politics: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Friday got temporary relief from Balochistan High Court (BHC). BHC on Friday suspended Khan’s arrest warrant for two weeks which was issued against him by a local court in the case registered against him in Quetta.
Explain that a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Imran Khan by a local court in the case of hate speech related to inciting the public against government institutions. According to news agency ANI, Imran Khan has been given temporary relief by the BHC when the Quetta police team reached his house in Lahore to arrest the PTI chairman.
Pakistan Politics: Case against Imran
The Balochistan police had registered a case against the PTI chairman on the complaint of a citizen named Abdul Khalil Karak. The judicial magistrate of Quetta had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against the PTI chief following a case registered at Bijli Ghar police station. It is alleged that Imran Khan has defamed national institutions with his statements.
According to Geo News, Justice Zaheer-ud-Din Kakar of the BHC heard the petition filed by Insaf Lawyers Forum (ISF) Iqbal Shah on behalf of the PTI chief. The petition stated that the offense was not committed within the jurisdiction of the Bijlee police station and requested the court to quash the FIR.

Notice issued to Balochistan police chief and others
Justice Kakar, while suspending the warrant, also issued summons to the police chief of Balochistan, SP Legal and station house officer of the electricity police station. A day earlier, a local court in Quetta had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against the PTI chief in a case registered under several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 (PECA).
The judicial magistrate issued an arrest warrant and directed the authorities to produce the former prime minister before the court. The PTI chief, in his speech, came down heavily on Pakistan’s government institutions after a team of Islamabad police arrived at his Zaman Park residence on Sunday to arrest Imran in the Toshakhana case.

In his speech, the PTI chairman said that he has neither bowed down before any institution or individual nor will he allow the country to do so. According to the report of The News International, a total of 37 cases are registered against Imran Khan in different parts of the country. These include litigation, police and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cases and proceedings initiated by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against the PTI chief.
