Kom was selected as the chef-de-mission by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in March of this year, with the belief that she was the ideal candidate to provide guidance and support to the athletes during the Paris event. She intended to collaborate with luger Shiva Keshavan, who would serve as her deputy.
