New Delhi: India saw a decline in corona cases on Sunday. Although on Sunday there were 12,193 new cases. In the last 24 hours, 10,112 new cases have been registered. However, the number of active cases has gone up to 67,806, informed the Union Health Ministry.

The number of active cases stands at 67,806, while the total number of recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours is 9,833. According to the data shared by the Health Department, 1,515 corona cases were found in Delhi on Saturday. At the same time, the corona positivity rate in Delhi has crossed 26 per cent. This rate is very worrying in terms of corona infection.

Maharashtra recorded 850 new coronavirus cases and four deaths on Saturday, the health department said. The state’s Covid-19 tally rose to 81,61,349 and the death toll to 1,48,502, according to the health department’s bulletin.

Eight states, including Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, were asked by the Center on Friday to keep a close watch and take pre-emptive action in any areas of concern to control any emerging spread of the infection. In a letter to Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Haryana and Delhi, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has urged them to be vigilant against laxity at any level.
