New Delhi: In a not-so strange case, a court in Hathras sentenced three men of life term in 31-years-old relating to a murder of a man. The accused are in their 60s now.
As per a report by the TOI, while pronouncing the order, the court also fined each of them of Rs. 5,000 and strictly said that the imprisionment will be extended for three extra months if they fail to pay the money.
The report mentioned the names of three accused — Gopichand, Maharaj Singh and Harishchandra and two others.
The five accused were subjected of trial for killing Ram Chandra (55) who was a resident of Sumerpur village under Hathras’ Sikandra Rao police station area. As per the charges levelled against the accused, they shot Ram Chandra due to a rivalry over property. The incident took place on June 4, 1992.
One Accused Died During Trial
The victim’s nephew had filed the complaint against the five accused booking them under all five under IPC section 302 (murder). Taking action into the matter, the police sent all of them to jail but they were out on bail within a few months. After which, the trial was continued.
The report quoted ADGC who informed that one Kulpati Singh died during the trial while Anar Singh received clean chit from the court in the matter.
After the court convicted the three into the matter, the police took them in theor custody and sent them to jail.
