Apple 15: The Cupertino-based tech giant, Apple, has said that it will abide by European Union regulations, effectively confirming that the future iPhone 15 line-up will include a USB C connector. However, it seems that not all iPhone 15 models will have the same USB C type.

According to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, only the professional models — the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max — will include high-speed USB Type C ports, while the more basic iPhone 15 will continue to use a slower connector.

The customary lightning port will be replaced by a USB Type C port on the forthcoming iPhone 15 series, according to Kuo. Additionally, it is anticipated that this change would enable high-speed USB Type C cable communication for the next devices iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 15 Ultra.

Additionally, the analyst has hinted in a number of tweets that the regular iPhone 15 may include USB 2.0 technology.

Speaking of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, there are rumours claiming that both devices will feature Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.2 at the very least.

For those who are unaware, if the new rule is implemented, which should happen soon enough, the EU will essentially oblige Apple to include a USB C connector in the devices it sells in the EU. Although it is unknown if Apple would implement this strategy across all markets.

By 2024, it is anticipated that the business will have switched entirely to USB C. The electronics giant has already switched its Macs, iPads, and other accessories to USB Type-C from USB 2.0, which offers rates of up to 480 Mb/sec.
