New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav Thursday aimed at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over a “fake encounter” of gangster Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad in Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh.

The SP chief said the saffron party intends to divert people’s attention from real issues. Taking to Twitter, Yadav said, “By doing false encounters, the BJP government is trying to divert attention from the real issues. The BJP does not believe in the court at all. Today’s and recent encounters should also be thoroughly investigated and the culprits should not be spared.”

“The power does not have the right to decide what is right or wrong. BJP is against brotherhood,” he added.

Earlier in March when the state Police was transferring Atiq Ahmed from Sabarmati jail in Gujarat to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav had warned that the vehicle carrying the gangster may overturn.

This is all documented. The record is not going to vanish. If the incident will be made everything will come to light,” Yadav had said.

Earlier in the day, son of former MP Atiq Ahmed, Asad was killed along with his aide and Ghulam’s son Maqsudan were killed in an ecounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force.
