WABetaInfo, a trusted source for new WhatsApp features, reports that the Meta-owned platform is developing this innovative functionality. Users will soon generate unique profile pictures by providing a description or prompt, enabling the AI to craft a personalised image that reflects their personality, interests, or mood.
This feature aims to elevate user interaction and improve the overall experience. By offering AI-generated images, WhatsApp intends to allow users to express themselves more creatively without using their real photos.
WABetaInfo highlights that this AI-driven approach can reduce the risks associated with sharing real photos online. Users concerned about privacy will benefit from this feature, as it provides an alternative to sharing actual images, thus mitigating potential misuse or unauthorised sharing. This adds a fun and customisable element to profile pictures while significantly enhancing privacy.

This is in addition to WhatsApp’s existing feature that prevents screenshots of profile photos, further reinforcing user privacy. While still under development, the feature is expected to be available in a future app update.
Additionally, recent reports indicate that WhatsApp might offer users the option to automatically clear the unread message count whenever they open the app. Users could reset the notification count each time they launch WhatsApp.
Enabling this option would allow users to start fresh with each app launch, free from the clutter of accumulated unread message counts. Each time users open WhatsApp, any existing unread message notifications will reset to zero. The primary goal of this feature is to reduce visual clutter and alleviate the psychological burden of numerous unread messages, thereby allowing users to focus on new and important communications.
