PM Modi Morbi Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials on the bridge collapse incident in Gujarat's Morbi. Prior to this, he reached Morbi accident spot and took stock of the relief and rescue operations. PM Modi also visited Morbi Civil Hospital and met the injured in the accident. In the meeting, prime minister stated that the authorities must stay in touch with the affected families and ensure that they receive all possible help in this tragic hour, reports news agency ANI. Officials briefed the PM Modi on the rescue operations and the assistance provided to those affected. "The need of the hour is to conduct a detailed and extensive inquiry which will identify all aspects relating to this mishap," PM Modi said. Before coming to Morbi, PM Modi had called a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar on Monday evening. In the meeting, PM Modi had directed the state government to provide all possible help to the victims. It was also decided in the meeting that on November 2, there would be a state mourning for the Morbi accident. During this, the national flag will be flown at half-mast on government buildings. According to the information, the rescue operation is going on even on the second day of the Morbi bridge accident. Even today, people of different agencies are searching for the missing people with the help of divers through 25 to 30 boats in the Machhu river. The death toll has gone up to 135. A total of 14 persons are still hospitalized.
