Manish Sisodia: A Delhi court on Monday sent Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia into 5-day CBI custody. He was arrested for alleged corruption in Delhi’s new liquor excise policy on Sunday.
CBI produced Manish Sisodia in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court at 2 pm today and asked for 5 days of police remand, Court accepted the central Bureau of Investigation’s demand. Delhi’s deputy CM will be in CBI custody till 4th March.
He is the second minister of Delhi’s AAP government who has been arrested by a central agency in less than a year. Manish Sisodia’s colleague and Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain was the first Aam Aadmi Party minister who was arrested by a central agency in May last year.
Mr. Sisodia who holds education and finance portfolios along with others facing corruption allegations in bringing a new liquor sale policy in Delhi.
Last year, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena ordered a CBI probe into liquor excise policy cases.
