New Delhi: Besides the names of Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Ashok Gehlot, another big face who appears to be in the race for party’s president polls is former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh.
If sources are to be believed then ‘Diggi Raja’, as he is being called affectionately, can also contest his fellows for the chief’s post in Congress.

Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh will reach Delhi today where he is likely to meet interim president Sonia Gandhi.
It is worth noting that the two possible candidates for Congress’ chief post polls met Sonia Gandhi on September 22.
Media reports says that in a meeting with Gehlot on Wednesday, Gandhi clarified that she will not be taking any sides with any of the candidates. She had also conveyed the same to Congress MP Tharoor, said sources.

Despite the meetings, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been saying that former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi should take the position.
The polls for Congress chief post will take place on October 17 and the counting will be done on October 19.
