Sarfaraz Khan, who made his debut in the third Test against England ended his outstanding performance on a sour note as got was run out due to a misunderstanding with Ravindra Jadeja. This left Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, furious. This was evident in his reaction of throwing his cap in frustration as Jadeja was on the verge of scoring his century.

Jadeja initially signaled for the run but later, he changed his mind, leaving Sarfaraz stranded as Mark Wood’s accurate throw caught him short of the crease, providing England with a crucial wicket. Jadeja later reached his century the very next ball, marking it as his fourth ton in Test cricket.

It was an emotional moment for Sarfaraz Khan as he was given the India cap by former captain Anil Kumble, in presence of his father and wife. The 26-year-old took to the crease after Rohit Sharma’s dismissial, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Sarfaraz’s cricketing journey. He went on to score 62 runs off just 66 balls before his unfortunate dismissal.

India scored 326/5 with the help of Rohit and Jadeja’s ton at stumps on Day 1
