While some reports claim that the Indian team may refuse to play the tournament if it is not held under the hybrid model whereas other reports say that the PCB is adamant about hosting the tournament in Pakistan itself and isn’t ready to take any one match outside. Some reports also emerged that the tournament may be shifted to South Africa if Pakistan doesn’t agree to ICC’s suggestion to play the tournament under a hybrid model. The Indian team will be comfortable in playing in any other country than Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy 2025, a look at the potential hosts and where can the tournament be shifted if it’s not held in Pakistan:
Sri Lanka: The Island nation can be a prime place to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Sri Lanka has been a place which has had the experience of hosting plenty ICC tournaments and it will be very feasible for the Indian team as well as they played the Asia Cup 2023 in the Island nation after some of the tournaments were shifted from Pakistan.
UAE: The United Arab Emirates consists of three venues including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai, which keep on hosting various cricketing events throughout the year. The country recently hosted the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 after it was shifted from Bangladesh. If the ICC Champions Trophy is held under the hybrid model, the UAE can be a decent place to host the tournament.

South Africa: The African country is among the probable hosts countries where the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 can be held if its shifted from Pakistan. South Africa has hosted many U19 World Cups and the 2003 ODI World Cup. Also, the conditions and the pitches are pretty much favourable for both the bowlers and batters which will make it a brilliant place to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
