Bhopal: New Book ‘Shackle The Storm’ by retired IPS Officer Dr. Shailendra Srivastava uncovers a thrilling connection between the famous kidnapping Crime in Indore in 2005 and a bridal gown worn by Dawood Ibrahim‘s daughter. Lets take a brief look at the book’s revelations:

The story unfolds with Mahrukh, Dawood Ibrahim’s daughter who wore a bridal gown in her wedding in Mecca in the year 2005. Tailor Ismail Khan from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh stitched the bridal gown. Barely a month after the wedding took place, on August 17, 2005, Indore’s Nitesh Nagori (20), son of a prominent cement manufacturer, was kidnapped.

The kidnappers demanded 4 crore for releasing him. But before the ransom amount was paid, police jumped into action and managed to rescue Nitesh.

Ismail Khan’s Role In High-Profile Indore Kidnapping

The investigation revealed Ismail Khan’s involvement in the kidnapping case. He was linked to one of Dawood Ibrahim’s trusted lieutenant named Aftab Alam. The police said that Ismail was promised a large commission and a job in Dubai for his involvement in the abduction, along with 1 crore for crafting the wedding gown. Both Ismail and Aftab were on run for nearly two decades.

In September 2005, Dhruv and Gaurav, two close friends of Nitesh were arrested by the police for aiding Ismail in the high profile crime. Dhruv named Ismail as the mastermind behind the whole crime scenario, which led to police discovering about his strong connection to the underworld. Additionally, police learnt that Aftab was carrying out the operation from Gulf during the crime. He had fled to Mumbai in the year 1997.

Court Sentences Three To Life Imprisonment

Indore Court sentenced three accused to life imprisonment in the complicated case, in 2010- Amjad Khan, Idris Khan and Manish. The other convicts Gaurav, Dhruv and few more were also acquitted in the infamous crime. Interpol issued warrants against Aftab and criminals Dawood Ibrahim, Ismail Khan, Randhawa but the three were never caught by the police. According to Srivastava, Ismail hid in Mumbai for some time and eventually moved to Dubai.

It also reveals the unsaid story of Vicky Malhotra, a significant face in the underworld and a gang member of Chhota Rajan. He was arrested by the Mumbai Police after accidently alerting them by using a mobile number linked to the Indore ransom bribery. The book unveils other chilling details on Vijay Kumar Yadav aka Don Vicky Malhotra who made fail attempts to assassinate Ibrahim on three occasions

Dr. Srivastava’s Role In Unmasking SIMI

The book contains a detailed account of 14 gripping known as well as untold stories of crime, justice and dark underworld of Madhya Pradesh. It also highlights Dr. Srivastava’s heroic role as the IG of Indore Range and makes mention of the 2006 Bhojshala riots. During the riots, he managed to expose the banned terrorist organization SIMI amid communal tensions.
