Officials reported on Saturday that a significant landslide occurred in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh as a result of a cloudburst event. Schools in the Mandi area have been ordered closed as a result of the continued, nonstop rains, and efforts are currently being made to clear the road. “Many regions of Mandi had rain overnight; since 1:30am, we have been receiving complaints about blocked roads and other related issues. Many individual incidents resolved. Police on the job, NDRF was contacted at around 2:30am; their mobilisation done,” Mandi DC A Chaudhary said.
