New Delhi: A Chinese fishing boat sank in the Indian Ocean. It is being told that other people, including crew members aboard the boat, are missing. According to broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV), the incident happened at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. Crew members included 17 from China, 17 from Indonesia, and five from the Philippines.

According to media reports, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang have ordered Chinese diplomats overseas as well as the Ministries of Agriculture and Transport to assist in the search for the missing.

According to the information, the fishing boat ‘Lupeng Yuanyu 028,” owned by Penglai Jinglu Fishery Company Limited, located in Shandong province, sank in the early hours of Tuesday. China’s Maritime Search and Rescue Centre has informed relevant countries about the accident.
