New Delhi: In a big move, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday said Rs 2000 Denomination Banknotes will be withdrawal from circulation but will continue to be as legal currency.

RBI has taken 2000 notes out of circulation, but these notes will remain legal. That means it will continue to be in use.
Reserve Bank has advised banks to stop issuing Rs 2000 banknotes with immediate effect. According to information, decision has been taken under the clean note policy.
After the demonetisation in 2016, the Reserve Bank issued a note of two thousand rupees.
People can deposit before September 30
The RBI said that the decision to withdraw Rs 2,000 notes has been taken under the Clean Note Policy. Those who have notes can deposit them in banks till 30 September. From May 23, Rs 20,000 can be deposited or changed at a time in any bank.
