Vadodara: Seven people are reported dead and seven others are injured following an autorickshaw and a trailer truck collision in Vadodara this afternoon.

Police have taken the bodies into custody for the post-mortem and the injured have been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.

According to news agency ANI, a trailer truck and autorickshaw collided near Air Force Station Dardipura in Vadodara.

The actual reason for the accident is yet to be ascertained while it is said that
the speed of both the vehicles was very high and that the auto was blown away following collusion.

Two JCB machines were called on the spot to clear both the vehicles from the road.

Huge crowd gathered at the spot after the accident leading to a traffic jam. According to the police, the condition of the injured is stable.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he is anguished by the loss of lives due to a road accident in the Vadodara district. “Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon. Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. Rs. 50,000 would be given to the injured,” he said.
