New Delhi: Nine accused in 2020 Delhi riot case have been convicted by a Delhi Court. All 9 accused were part of a mob whose objective was to cause maximum damage to the properties belonging to the Hindu Community, the Court said.
The case was related to rioting, arson and vandalism of properties in the Gokulpuri area during 2020 Delhi riots.
The accused were part of an unruly mob, which was guided by communal feelings and was adjective to cause properties of persons belonging to the Hindu community, The court said while pronouncing judgement.
The Court gave directions to take all of them in custody and send them to judicial custody.
Additional session judge Pulastaya Pramachala convicted Mohd Shoaib alias Chhutwa, Sharukh, Rashid alias Raja, Ashraf Ali, Pravez, Md Faisal, Rashid alias Monu, Azad, and Shahnawaz alias Shanu under IPC section related to arson, rioting, theft, Unlawful assembly, destroying properties.
