New Delhi: US President Joe Biden spoke with the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday. This comes after almost 80 missiles were rammed on the land of Ukraine.
President Biden condemned the air strikes and have assured Zelenskyy of continued security “assistance including advanced air defense systems.”
Biden condemns Russian attack
White House issued a statement in which Biden, “expressed his condemnation of Russia’s missile strikes across Ukraine, including in Kyiv, and conveyed his condolences to the loved ones of those killed and injured in these senseless attacks. President Biden pledged to continue providing Ukraine with the support needed to defend itself, including advanced air defense systems.”
The statement further read, “also underscored his ongoing engagement with allies and partners to continue imposing costs on Russia, holding Russia accountable for its war crimes and atrocities, and providing Ukraine with security, economic, and humanitarian assistance.”
Vladmir Putin issued harsh warning
In response to the Crimea bridge attack on Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a “harsh” warning on Monday. Following the Crimea bridge explosion, Putin said during a televised interview that Russia had attacked infrastructure and military targets all throughout Ukraine.
He accused Kiev of “terrorism” and vowed more “severe” retaliation “according to the level of threat to the Russian Federation, make no question about that.”
