New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu on Thursday signed an agreement for the settlement of an inter-state boundary dispute in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between two states in New Delhi.

Home Minister Amit Shah termed the move a big achievement.
“The signing of an agreement for the settlement of an inter-state boundary dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh is a very big achievement. Today, we have crossed the milestone for the establishment of a developed, peaceful and conflict-free northeast,” said Home Minister.
Talking to media persons Assam’s CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the settlement would be proved to be a milestone.
“The signing of an MoU between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh today to settle an inter-state boundary dispute will prove to be a milestone. This will bring peace and development to the Northeast region,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

“The border dispute was settled today by signing the MoU between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. This is a historic movement for both states,” said Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu.
