YouTube, a popular video streaming platform, periodically introduces new features for its users. Now, the company is set to launch a remarkable feature for its premium users, allowing Android users to enjoy YouTube Shorts offline without internet access. Currently, the company is testing a special feature that automatically downloads Shorts based on users’ watch history. It is said that this feature will significantly enhance user experience.
Smart Download Feature
According to reports, the YouTube Shorts smart download feature could be quite helpful in areas with poor connectivity. However, it may take some time for Shorts to appear in the download section. The company will test this feature with selected premium accounts until July 15. Additionally, YouTube has announced that the Jump Ahead feature has also begun rolling out.
This feature uses AI to take you directly to the best parts of a video so that your time isn’t wasted. The company has recently introduced it for premium users on Android in the US.
Using the Jump Ahead feature is quite simple: just double-tap on the video, and you’ll see a ‘Jump Ahead’ button that takes you directly where you want to go. The platform utilizes AI and viewer data for this feature. Users can double-tap on the right side of the video to access the ‘Jump Ahead’ button.
Picture-In-Picture Feature
Additionally, the company announced that it is introducing a Picture-in-Picture feature for Shorts. This could significantly aid premium Android users in multitasking while watching videos. Meanwhile, YouTube stated that it is also testing an AI assistant for Android users, which will provide answers to various questions related to the videos. Not only that, but it can also provide answers to all your questions without compromising your playback experience.
