New Delhi: Xiaomi India, a well-established company, recently held an event in New Delhi, Delhi on August 1, 2023, at noon, where they unveiled several new products, including smartphones, a Smart TV, a Neckband, and a Watch.
Among the highlights of the event were the Xiaomi TV X Series, Redmi Sonic Bass 2 Neckband Style Wireless Earphones, Redmi Watch 3 Active Smartwatch, and the Redmi 12 Series.
The Redmi 12 series was particularly noteworthy, with the introduction of both 4G and 5G variants in the Indian market. The Redmi 12 5G comes in three different configurations: 4GB RAM + 128GB storage priced at Rs 10,999 after a Rs 1,000 bank offer, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage priced at Rs 12,499, and 8GB RAM + 256GB priced at Rs 14,499.
The Redmi 12 5G boasts a 6.71-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 550 nits maximum brightness, providing a screen-to-body ratio of up to 91 per cent.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, with an additional 8GB virtual RAM feature to enhance performance.
In terms of battery and camera capabilities, the Redmi 12 5G is equipped with a 5000mAh battery and supports 22.5W fast charging. It features a dual-camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. For selfies and video calls, an 8-megapixel front camera is provided.
Other features include Bluetooth 5.1, a fingerprint sensor, WiFi 5, an IP53 rating, and dual SIM 5G support. The Redmi 12 5G operates on the Android 13 operating system.
