YouTuber Shirley Curry, fondly known as the Skyrim Grandma, has announced that she will no longer be making gameplay videos. The 88-year-old has retired after making such videos for nine years.
Her retirement announcement has been made on a YouTube video, which has been shared on Reddit, where it has garnered 8,800 upvotes. Fans are reacting to the post, thanking her for making the gaming videos for nine years and some are even anticipating her comeback with The Elder Scrolls 6 finally arrives.
According to Skyrim Grandma, she is now tired of gameplay videos, hence, she won’t be making them anymore. However, she made it clear that she has not bid adieu to YouTube altogether and will continue with her vlogs and may make reading videos of the books in Skyrim or her own stories occasionally.
“I’m just doing it for fun and it isn’t fun anymore,” Skyrim Grandma said. “I’m tired of it. I’m bored with it. I’m bored to death with it. So I am making the decision now, totally, finally. I am not going to be making any more game videos and uploading them.”
Skyrim Grandma will now read, write a book or even make a quilt in her free time and will make vlogs on these activities.

Curry’s legacy with Skyrim community is already immortalized as fans petitioned for her for the next game in 2018. Soon, Bethesda responded and announced that Curry will have her own NPC character in the game.
