WhatsApp keeps rolling out new features to enhance the user experience. Among the features introduced earlier this month, scheduled calls are the most important, letting users pre-plan group calls. When inviting entire groups or individuals, participants get a notification just before the call starts.
The Meta-owned platform is testing a voicemail feature to enhance user experience, WABetaInfo reported, based on the WhatsApp Android beta (v2.22.22.5).

This feature will be very useful for users, allowing them to check recorded messages and respond according to urgency. Notably, Apple rolled out a similar voicemail feature on iPhones in India earlier this year. Callers can record a short audio message, and the receiver can respond later at their convenience. WhatsApp’s voicemail feature will work in much the same way.
With over 500 million active users in India, WhatsApp is likely to get a positive response to this feature. Meanwhile, another feature called voice call reminder is in the works. It will allow you to set reminders to return missed calls, with three preset options – after 2 hours, after 8 hours, after 24 hours, and a custom option to choose the timing as per their convenience.
