WhatsApp, a platform owned by Meta, has launched a new option that allows users to feature music on their status. This functionality has been present in some of Meta’s other services, including Instagram and Facebook, and is now also making its way to WhatsApp.
Status is essentially an image or short video shared for a limited duration, after which it vanishes and is also featured on the user’s profile image. The update music option is being released as a staged rollout and is anticipated to reach users around the world in the next few weeks.
Meta confirmed that this will also be released with a vast library of songs with a range of styles for users of WhatsApp to choose their choice of music block. When creating a new status, users can select music to play alongside it by tapping a music icon on the screen’s top bar. Users will also have the option to select their preferred segment of the music. For status using an image, the music clip will be 15 seconds, and for video, the supported music segment can be up to 60 seconds long.
How To Include Music In Your WhatsApp Status

3. Click the music icon you see to either search for a specific song or artist you want to add on its own

WhatsApp users on iPhone can now make the app their default for not only messaging but also for calls. The change, which will arrive with a new build, will open WhatsApp in the app selection menu of iOS settings.
Apple had initially rolled out the feature, which lets users select their favorite apps, to users in the European Union, and then thereafter with full international release. This change allows users to be more flexible and is a major shift for Apple from a closed ecosystem.
