WhatsApp has announced a host of new features that have been aimed at enhancing the user experience across chats, calls and channels. Some of these features have been implemented while some are about to roll out. Among the most notable additions the most noticeable would be the Online indicator for group chats. This showcases how many people are currently active in a conversation without revealing specific names. The New feature will help users be aware of whether they are messaging into a quiet group or active members are available while you are messaging.
Beyond that if you have been overwhelmed by notifications , WhatsApp has further introduced a customizable alert setting. The New ‘Notify For’ Option allows users to choose between receiving all notifications or setting a priority for highlights. These would include @ mentions, replies, messages and saved contacts.
communications and quick reactions have been made much easier to tackle. When someone reacts to a message , users can simply tap on that reaction.
Video Call Reaction
The latest update has further received several updates and improvements, including a more reliable connection system designed to reduce freezing and dropping of calls. WhatsApp has further delineated that it has optimised its routing system to find the best connection path and improved bandwidth detection to upgrade video quality to shift to HD when the internet bandwidth speed allows.
Updates For Channels
Improved functions for channels include features that would allow the admins to record and share short video clips up to 60 seconds long, beyond that generate QR codes for easy sharing. Users would be able to provide transcripts of voice messages for followers who would now be able to listen to voice messages.
Most of these features are right now available in the latest stable build of WhatsApp for both iPhone and android.
