WhatsApp Low Light Video Calling Mode: Popular messaging platform WhatsApp recently rolled out a new update on video calling. The latest update brings improvements to video calling on several fronts for an enhanced user experience. While, filters, backgrounds and several other features are available to users, one feature has gone unnoticed. It is the new low-light video calling mode.

WhatsApp Low-Light Video Calling Mode: What Is It and How It Works?

WhatsApp low-light mode for video calls, as the name implies, is a feature that is aimed at improving the video quality during video calls in dark conditions. We tried this feature and found that turning on the feature improves the overall brightness of the frame. But most importantly, it improves the flow on the face by adding extra light and also reduces the grains that ruin the video feed in low light conditions.

As the name suggests, the WhatsApp low-light video calling mode is a feature introduced with an aim to enhance video quality when you make video calls in dark conditions. Once you enable this feature, it improves the overall brightness of the screen. Additionally, it reduces the grains and adds extra light, thereby improving facial flow. Low-light and grains spoil video calling in dark conditions. But this will no longer be the case, thanks to the new feature.

How To Enable?

Accessing WhatsApp low-light mode for video calls is pretty simple. All you have to do during a video call is tap your frame to zoom in. In the top right corner, you’ll find the new “Bulb” logo. Here’s a step-by-step guide to enable the new feature:

-Expand your display to full screen

-Fine the “Bulb” button and tap it to activate low-light mode.

-Turn it off if you want to disable low-light mode.

The WhatsApp low-light feature is available on both iOS and Android versions of the app. Notably, this feature is not available on the WhatsApp Windows app, but you can raise the brightness level on the Windows version as well. The feature must be enabled for every WhatsApp call. There is no option to leave it on all the time.
