New Delhi: WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to set a time limit for pinned messages in both group and individual chats. This means users will be able to choose how long a pinned message will stay pinned. Currently, this update has been shown to some beta testers and is still in progress. In the future, the company may roll out this feature for all users. The information about this update was shared by the website Wabetainfo, which keeps an eye on WhatsApp’s development.
Under this new feature, the company will provide three options for users to pin messages for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. This feature will be useful for office groups and family groups where important messages can be pinned for everyone. It’s worth noting that the company is also working on the Pin Message feature for individual chats, which will be rolled out to all users soon. Currently, the Pin Message feature is not available on the app.
Recently Launched Feature:
WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new feature for users that allows them to silence calls from unknown numbers. By keeping this feature enabled, you won’t be disturbed by calls from unknown numbers, and the calls will be automatically silenced. You will be able to see the silenced calls in your call log. To enable this feature, you need to go to the WhatsApp settings.
Work in Progress on Other Features:
WhatsApp is also working on features like usernames, call back, and screen sharing, which are being tested by some beta testers. The usernames feature is particularly significant as it enhances user privacy and allows users to add others to their contacts without sharing their phone numbers.
