Many techies have claimed that they managed to get Coldplay tickets by using a trick on the BookMyShow website before the general public could grab them. They claim that they got their hands on the ticket using the ‘Inspect Element’ feature on the website. This comes at a time when BookMyShow is being criticised by Coldplay fans for mismanagement in the sale of the tickets for the much-anticipated concerts in January 2025. The concert will mark the Grammy-winning band’s comeback to India after nine years’ hiatus.
As part of the Music of the Spheres World Tour, Coldplay will perform on January 18, 19 and 21 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
The tickets for the tour went on sale on September 22 on the only official ticket sales platform – BookMyShow. However, Coldplay fans reportedly had to wait for hours in virtual queue and found out that all the tickets were sold out. Some people even accused the platform of reserving tickets for its own friends, employees, Instagram influencers and their own employees. This left the public struggling to get a pass.
Some Techies Claim They Used Trick To Buy Coldplay Tickets
Amid the controversy, some techies, including co-founder and CTO of Crib and a former software engineer at Microsoft Archit Chauhan, claimed that they managed to buy Coldplay tickets using a simple trick and did not have to queue up.
“We managed to get Coldplay tickets by using some inspect element tricks to find the “buy” ticket URL before it was available to the general public,” Chauhan wrote on X.
Krishna Chandhok @ChandhokKrishna stated “In the end, Inspect element is my friend. #Coldplay”.
Another user wrote “Inspect element for the win. Tech at its peak #Coldplay #bookmyshow Thanks for reinforcing the belief in Indian Tech startup ecosystem🙏”.
