New Delhi: Elon Musk has confirmed that Twitter is set to increase the character limit from 280 to 4000. When asked whether Twitter plans to increase the character limit to 4000 or not, Musk replied “Yes” without providing further information. Twitter originally had a 140 character limit before it was increased to 280 in 2017.
Previously, the platform only gave a limit of 140 characters. On November 8, 2017, Twitter doubled the character limit from 140 to 280 characters.

Elon Musk recently said that Twitter will delete and free the names of 1.5 billion accounts that have been inactive on the platform for years. “Twitter will soon begin freeing up the namespace of 1.5 billion accounts. This is an apparent deletion of accounts without tweets and logins for years,” said the world’s richest man.
